Central Asia Institute
Infuse has partnered with Central Asia Institute, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower communities of Central Asia through literacy and education, especially for girls; to promote peace through education; and to convey the importance of these activities globally.
Infuse Global Art Alliance and Infuse Gallery is working with Central Asia Institute to build educational art programs for girls in central Asia who would otherwise not have the opportunity. Schools in those regions often struggle to pay for basic school books so art supplies and education are a rare-to-none luxury. Yet for a society that is predominately illiterate, art is a powerful tool of expression as images can often convey more meaning than words.
We not only fund-raise for girls' education through the sale of art, but we also offer the girls and women in Central Asia institute's schools a platform to sell their own art. With the sale of each art piece, the majority of the sale will be sent directly to the artist herself, while another percentage will be donated back into Central Asia Institute's HER program (Hope. Educate. Rise). Therefore not only are we offering an opportunity for the girls to empower themselves financially through the sale of their own creations, but also we are giving them the chance to contribute back to the organization that has given them their life-changing education.
As well, several of our career artists in the gallery are donating a percentage of the sales of their art to Central Asia Institute's HER program to support the mission of building a peaceful world through girls' education.
Why Girls’ Education?
Because we believe education is the surest path to world peace. Education empowers individuals and strengthens communities. There are many reasons why access to education, particularly for girls, in these rural, often high-conflict areas in non-existent or restricted. In many communities, there is no school. In others, there are no teachers. Often times children can’t afford the required uniforms and school supplies, so they are unable to attend. These and other hurdles are even greater for women and girls: Two-thirds of the world’s illiterate people are female. (Unesco)
