The two illuminations that make up the Cosmic Forces series came at the same time. My initial impression was that they represented a confluence between the moon, water and the feminine on Earth. Seeing that what I thought to be a crescent “new” moon of Influence illuminate differently than I would have imagined, I now think there are additional “cosmic” forces involved in these visual poems.
Surge reflects the explosive response of the waters of life to the influence of cosmic forces.
While in the solvent bath, an extraordinary wide, long streak of iridescent blue-green formed along one side of the copper between the "cosmic forces" and the pregnant woman doing the back bend. That streaking largely disappeared after the copper was removed from the solvent and wiped down. I did my best to recreate it with an iridescent blue-green pigment used for fishing lures.
